Chelsea could take advantage of the relationship between Roman Abramovich and agent Plini Zahavi in their pursuit of Robert Lewandowski, according to BILD.

The report of Chelsea’s revived interest in the 32-year-old came from The Sun.

The news outlet claims that Chelsea are considering making a move for Lewandowski in a potential £50million deal after failing to persuade Borussia Dortmund to sell Erling Haaland.

As many would expect, however, BILD argued that a summer exit is very unlikely for the Poland international.

Bayern are reportedly hoping to extend Lewandowski’s contract — which does not expire until 2023.

However, the report also mentioned a couple of reasons why the striker’s Bayern exit is not completely out of the question.

Unlikely, but not impossible

Firstly, Bayern are facing a tough negotiation battle over a new deal with Lewandowski’s agent, Zahavi.

If both parties could not reach an agreement, this transfer window would likely be the last opportunity for Bayern to make substantial money from selling the club’s top scorer.

BILD further added that Zahavi has excellent contacts, particularly in England, and would easily be able to bring his client into conversations at a lot of top clubs.

As many might have already known, Zahavi is also quite close with Abramovich. The agent was heavily involved in Abramovich’s acquisition of Chelsea in 2003.

Obviously, similar to Haaland’s case, any potential deal for Lewandowski would only be possible if Bayern were eventually willing to sell — and that’s a big if.
