Report: Seven Chelsea players are now all open to leaving Stamford Bridge this summer
Chelsea reportedly have seven first-team players in their ranks that are open to leaving the club this summer.
According to The Telegraph, there are seven senior stars that would be prepared to exit Stamford Bridge.
The report names Marcos Alonso, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Ross Barkley and Kenedy as the Chelsea individuals that would be open to moving if a bid is made for them.
Seven players open to leaving Chelsea
It looks like being a hectic summer for the Blues in the transfer window, something which could become even busier if there are more exits.
First of all, it’s no surprise to hear fringe players Kepa, Barkey and Kenedy would be willing to leave now the season has ended. In fairness, it seems very unlikely that any can force their way into Thomas Tuchel’s side looking ahead to next year.
Marcos Alonso, who’s done a decent job covering injured teammate Ben Chilwell for a large spell of this campaign, is an interesting one. The wing-back has reportedly been asking to leave west London for some time and he may get his wish.
Finally, the futures of attacking trio Ziyech, Pulisic and Werner are being spoken about. It doesn’t feel like any of them has found their very best form in a Chelsea shirt, which is why you couldn’t blame any for being open to leaving.
Summer of change
Let’s hope the Blues can start working on transfers now that the Todd Boehly-led consortium has passed government and Premier League checks to complete a takeover.
It feels like a lot of work needs to be done to Thomas Tuchel’s group.
There’s reportedly a £200million transfer pot that will be made available, but could that be largened through player sales?
