Chelsea have reportedly been approached for Baba Rahman by four clubs that want to sign him.

According to Ghanasoccernet.com, four different teams are in the running to try land the 27-year-old during the summer transfer window.

It is explained that Championship sides Middlesbrough and Reading, along with overseas clubs PAOK FC and Augsburg, are potential suitors.

The report says they’ll all meet Chelsea’s demands for the defender, too.

Rahman is due to return to Chelsea for pre-season after his season-long loan with Reading, who are now trying to re-sign him after a successful year. However, the 27-year-old’s a player that’s in demand.

Chelsea approached for Baba Rahman

Rahman’s still got two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but most supporters will be majorly shocked if he breaks into the Chelsea squad moving forward.

The left-back’s made 23 first-team appearances for the Blues since joining back in 2015 from Augsburg. Since then he’s spent time away from London on loans with Schalke, Reims, Mallorca, PAOK and Reading.

He’s a player that’s never been able to live up to expectation on the big stage.

Jose Mourinho remarkably tipped him back in 2015 to grow into one of the world’s elite players.

It’s good to see his stock has not completely disappeared, even if his career may lie away from Chelsea.

Returning LB

Rahman may be linked with an immediate move away from Chelsea, but there’s a loanee in his position that’s being eyed for a promotion to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

It’s been reported Emerson Palmieri, who’s impressed during a season-long loan with Lyon, is a left wing-back that Tuchel plans to use going into next season. This includes a plan to offload current Blues star Marcos Alonso, too.
