Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement for the loan signing of Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea have a “verbal agreement” with the Spanish club to sign the 23-year-old attacker during the current January transfer window.
It is understood that the Blues are set to pay Atletico roughly €11million (£9.7million) to take him on loan.
The report explains that Felix will decide to join Chelsea because he’s attracted to their project, despite interest from rivals Manchester United and Arsenal.

Chelsea agreement for Joao Felix
There’s been quite a significant U-turn in the Felix transfer speculation, with Graham Potter’s side now close to a deal.
The Evening Standard claimed last week that Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal were unwilling to cough up £10million to sign Atletico’s attacker for the rest of the season.
However, the new rumours are that the Blues have sorted out the details for a loan.

Huge punt
If you check out this deal, it looks like another big punt from Chelsea in the transfer business.
Yes, Felix is outrageously talented. However, he’s not an obvious candidate to fire in 10-plus goals at Stamford Bridge during the second half of the season.
Described as “special” by Alvaro Morata in the past, Felix could be a very interesting addition to Potter’s side in the upcoming months.
It’s going to be interesting to see where Chelsea’s boss plans to use him, whether that be from a wide or central forward position.
