RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is set to sign a long-term contract worth over £45m with Chelsea according to a report from German.
SportBild’s head of football Christian Falk said on Twitter that according to Bild’s information the Germany international “should sign a contract with Chelsea until 2025”.
He also added that Werner would collect more than €10million (£9m) or €50m (£45m) in total.
Although it remains unclear how much Chelsea would have to pay Leipzig for the striker, it’s safe to assume it would be close to his £53m release clause.

The Telegraph previously reported that Chelsea were looking for an opportunity to sign Werner amid Liverpoo’s reluctance to meet the release clause.
If the report turns out to be true, this would be a massive signing for Chelsea who have been inactive in the past two transfer windows.
The 24-year-old has raked 31 goals across all competitions this season, including a staggering 25 goals from just 29 appearances in Bundesliga.
Interestingly, Falk also previously claimed that Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, who played alongside Werner at Stuttgart, has tried to convince Werner to come to Stamford Bridge.
