Tottenham have been handed a major boost in their attempts to sign Richarlison from Everton this summer.
According to The Telegraph, the club were becoming concerned Chelsea were going to hijack their move for the striker.
The Blues have made their interest in attackers well known this summer, with the Toffees man one of the names rumoured to be a potential face through the door this summer.

The links come as Thomas Tuchel’s side seek a striker to replace the outgoing Romelu Lukaku, with his loan to Inter set to be confirmed.
However, Chelsea’s priorities seem to lie with outright wingers, reportedly confirming a fee with Leeds United for Raphinha.
As well as their rumoured deep interest for Raheem Sterling, Todd Boehly is now unlikely to launch any further bids for Richarlison.
The fee that Tottenham will pay for the striker is reported to be around £60m.
Spurs were concerned at Chelsea’s Richarlison interest
The fact that Chelsea are looking elsewhere should benefit Antonio Conte’s side, who according to The Telegraph were beginning to become wary that Boehly’s influence on transfers could see the deal slip through their fingers.
The efficiency the Blues showed in seemingly pipping Arsenal to a deal for the Leeds winger shows the fear factor the club currently hold in the market, so Spurs’ worries seem reasonable.

But it seems now that Tottenham supporters and staff can rest easy, as Chelsea have other options to target.
While Richarlison would bring a completely different style to Chelsea’s attack, the excitement surrounding the deal for Raphinha suggests the 25-year-old is set to be a popular signing instead.
With his 1v1 attacking a strength a lot of the Chelsea side lack in, a deal could revolutionise the attack, with Raheem Sterling’s goalscoring ability seemingly a perfect complement on the other side.
While Richarlison’s desire to win is something supporters will admire, his play style seemingly suits Conte’s system better, with his ability to feature anywhere across the front line making him a viable candidate for a side who aren’t currently blessed with depth.
