Report: Two Serie A giants interested in signing 'amazing' £17m Chelsea man
Inter Milan and Napoli are in the hunt once again to prize Emerson Palmieri away from Chelsea this summer, according to Calciomercato.
Emerson’s opportunities at Stamford Bridge have shrunk since he signed from Roma in 2018 for £17.6m (Sky Sports).
The 26-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game this season.
Even with Thomas Tuchel’s inclination to rotate Chelsea’s squad, Emerson hasn’t been offered the same opening as he teammates.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
Tuchel himself did express his sympathies to Emerson after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Everton, calling him an ‘amazing guy who trains on the highest level’ but ‘suffers from bad decisions against him from me’ (HaytersTV).
There has been a growing sense that the Italian international may be cut from the Blues before too long.
It was only in December that Sport Mediaset suggested that Napoli were looking to bring Emerson back to his native country.
This was a few months after Sky Sports reported that Inter Milan had opened transfer talks with Chelsea to sign the left-back.
Now, the two Serie A sides are set to do battle again for Emerson’s signature.
Antonio Conte would be looking to bolster Milan’s left flank, with Ashley Young’s contract set to run out in June.
Napoli meanwhile have been weighing up a replacement for Faouzi Ghoulam, who has seriously struggled with injuries over the past few years.
Chelsea would be looking for around €20m (Calciomercato) if they were to part ways with Emerson.
