West Ham have reportedly made a bid for Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri.
According to The Athletic, West Ham have now submitted an offer worth £13million for the left-back.
Reports earlier this month suggested that Emerson is looking to leave Stamford Bridge during this summer transfer window amid interest from Atalanta and Nottingham Forest.
The 28-year-old has been part of Chelsea’s group during pre-season after returning from last year’s successful loan at Lyon, but he’s not been involved in the match day squad for either of the opening two games of the Premier League campaign.

West Ham bid for Emerson
The Hammers have now made their move for Chelsea’s full-back with an opening offer.
Emerson may have only played 71 Chelsea games in four and a half years in West London, but he’s still a very talented individual.
Unfortunately, the £75,000-a-week defender has been unable to nail down a starting position for the Blues due to competition over the years from the likes of Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell.
However, he was a nailed-on starter last season during his time with Lyon. The Italy international helped his country win the European Championship in 2021, too.

This is a deal that definitely looks like it makes sense for all parties involved.
For Chelsea, they’ll be selling a fringe player with two years still left on his deal and in desperate need of a permanent home.
Meanwhile, West Ham could bring in an attack-minded left-back that would definitely improve their options.
