Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Italian club AC Milan are in talks about signing Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud.
Romano claims on his Twitter that Milan are trying to sign the Blues 34-year-old, who has one year remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge after recently signing a contract.
It is understood that the £18million France international has already agreed personal terms with the Serie A giants.
In addition, Milan have also asked about two of Giroud’s Blues teammates.
Hakim Ziyech and Tiemoue Bakayoko are the two Chelsea players mentioned by the Italians.
Could Giroud lead small Chelsea exodus this summer?
If you look at the amount of players scheduled to meet up with Chelsea for pre-season, then you can see assume plenty are going to be either sold or loaned before the campaign starts.
Giroud, who scored 11 goals in 31 games last season, is in position to be part of the Chelsea squad next year after penning a new deal. However, reports suggest he’s now ready to leave.
There is certainly more chance of him starting regularly at Milan.
Meanwhile, Ziyech only joined the Blues last year. The club need to keep the 28-year-old winger.
On the other hand, 26-year-old midfielder Bakyoko is nowhere near the first team after spells out on loan, so his sale would make sense.
