Romelu Lukaku not in Inter Milan's squad vs Parma amid reported Chelsea deal
Inter Milan have confirmed Romelu Lukaku’s absence for Sunday’s pre-season friendly match against Parma amid a reported transfer agreement with Chelsea.
As it stands, there is still no official confirmation from either club regarding the transfer.
However, Lukaku’s non-appearance among the squad suggests the reported move is imminent.
Inter boss Simone Inzaghi brought 23 players to Parma for the friendly, but Lukaku is neither among the starters nor the substitutes (via Inter’s official website).
Instead of Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez starts alongside young Brazilian striker Martin Satriano.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
Based on a report from The Athletic, Lukaku should be in home country Belgium for his medical at the moment, before flying to London within 24 hours.
Unfortunately, it remains unclear whether Lukaku will be available for Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup against Villarreal.
However, The Athletic also claims that during the negotiation, Chelsea wanted to ensure the striker is ready to start the Premier League season.
So at the very least, Lukaku might be able to make his full debut at Stamford Bridge against Crystal Palace next weekend.
