Chelsea’s defender could yet receive some late loan interest in the final hours of Friday’s transfer deadline day.

The Blues are doing well to try trim down the squad with plenty of exits in the last few weeks, and the speculation is that there may yet be some more departures.

Chelsea have loaned out the likes of Djordje Petrovic, Lesley Ugochukwu, Alfie Gilchrist, Gabriel Slonina, Bashir Humphreys and Kepa Arrizabalaga already. Incidentally, Bournemouth fans are delighted about signing Kepa on loan.

Trevoh Chalobah, 25, is one individual on Chelsea’s books linked with a potential exit this week. He’s one of the high-profile names currently exiled from Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad, which is very tough for many people to comprehend.

Crystal Palace still considering Trevoh Chalobah

Sky Sports News journalist Lyall Thomas has claimed via Sky Sports on Friday afternoon that Premier League side Crystal Palace are still weighing a potential move to sign Chelsea’s Chalobah on loan.

It is explained that Oliver Glasner’s Palace side are considering if they need to sign another centre-half despite the fact Marc Guehi is staying at Selhurst Park. This is because their other defender Chadi Riad has suffered a recent injury blow.

The report states that Palace haven’t made a formal approach yet for Chalobah. A late move on deadline day hasn’t been ruled out yet, though.

Apparently, the 25-year-old Chelsea centre-back is someone who’s been on Palace’s radar for a while.

Trevoh Chalobah’s agent should get on the phone

There’s no way a player of Chalobah’s ability should spend this season on the sidelines, so let’s hope that something materialises with Palace today.

The versatile defender may not be wanted at Chelsea any longer, which in itself is a bizarre decision, but he could actually be a superb signing for most clubs in the top division.

Palace know first-hand with Guehi that Chelsea’s academy can produce great defenders.
