Some members of Chelsea’s staff are urging the club not to sell Conor Gallagher this summer.
That is according to a report from The Daily Mail.
The report claims that people within Chelsea are starting to voice their frustration at the amount of homegrown talent exiting Stamford Bridge, with Mason Mount and Lewis Hall both departing in this transfer window.
It is understood that the Blues academy staff are pushing for Conor Gallagher, 23, to stay in the squad this season.
In addition, they’ve shared anger towards the Mount and Hall exits.

Gallagher, who’s started the first two games of the season, is a very talented midfielder to come out of Chelsea’s blossoming academy at Cobham.
However, there’s current rumours of the England international potentially moving on during the final week of the transfer window.
Speaking on the Last Word On Spurs YouTube channel this week, journalist Ben Jacobs reported that Chelsea would want around £50million to sell Gallagher. Furthermore, the decision about his future will ultimately come down to the Blues preference this week.

We can certainly see Gallagher getting a decent amount of minutes this season and playing an important role for Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea, but there’s no hiding from the fact that competition for places has cranked up.
With Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia both arriving this month, Gallagher will have to be at his sharpest to get into the Blues starting line-up.
Described as “fantastic” by Graham Potter, as quoted by Football.London, Gallagher has a lot of star individual quality.
We can certainly see why Chelsea’s academy staff don’t want another of their success stories to go and achieve great things at a rival club.
