Tottenham Hotspur have not followed up on their interest in Romelu Lukaku after holding preliminary talks about a potential move for the Chelsea striker.
That is according to a report from Calciomercato, which notes that the Blues want a fee of around £38.4 million for the Belgian in this window.

Romelu Lukaku is surely one player the club’s hierarchy want to offload before the deadline passes. Of course, his future remains uncertain following his loan move to Inter last season.
Tottenham yet to follow up on Lukaku interest after preliminary talks
There has been speculation that he could move to Juventus as part of a swap deal also involving Dusan Vlahovic. However, Calciomercato reports that talks are at a standstill over the potential fee involved in a possible deal.

Meanwhile, the report adds that Lukaku is not tempted by the chance to move to Saudi Arabia.
Tottenham have looked into a possible deal for the 30-year-old. Obviously, Spurs have sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in this window.
Calciomercato reports that preliminary talks have taken place over a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Lukaku.
However, nothing has come from those discussions. So it would appear that Ange Postecoglou’s men have decided to look elsewhere.
Lukaku can bide his time when it comes to Saudi Arabia. Their window is open a lot longer. So if he fails to secure a move away and he remains out of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, then heading to the Kingdom may become more appealing.
It is little surprise that Tottenham have not followed up on talks. He does not appear to suit Postecoglou’s style of play at all.
Unfortunately, it looks as though it is going to be quite difficult to move Lukaku on in the final couple of weeks in the window.
But clearly, ruling anything out in this window is proving to be almost impossible.
