Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso has reportedly agreed terms over a move to Barcelona this summer, but the two clubs involved are still yet to reach an arrangement.
Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Barcelona and Chelsea are still in discussions trying to sort a summer transfer for the 31-year-old.
It is explained a deal is in place regarding personal terms for the defender to make a switch to the Camp Nou. However, there’s still the big issue of the two clubs agreeing a transfer, with one year still remaining on the left-back’s contract at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso, who cost the Blues £24million six years ago, looks like he could leave west London to return back to his homeland Spain depending on transfer negotiations.
The wide man scored five goals and made six assists this season for Thomas Tuchel’s side, stepping in well after an injury to teammate Ben Chilwell.
There’s always been question marks from supporters over him defensively, though.

Alonso to Barcelona
Alonso has reportedly been asking to leave Chelsea for some time, so transfer rumours linking him with an exit this summer makes sense.
He’s played an important role in Tuchel’s squad this campaign. Also, he’s had some memorable individual moments over the course of his Blues career.
The left wing-back is someone that’s going to be remembered whenever he goes, albeit he’s had an up and down time of it at the Bridge.
The fact Barcelona want to add him to their squad shows he still has big value.
