Boca Juniors defender Valentin Barco is a reported target for Chelsea.
Valentin Barco has been linked with a move to Chelsea going into the January transfer window, with the Evening Standard claiming that they have him on their radar.
However, according to the same outlet, their sister club RC Strasbourg could sign the 19-year-old before he eventually moves to Stamford Bridge one day in the future.
Full-back has been a problem position for Chelsea this season, with the Blues picking up so many injuries there.
On the left side, Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella are both currently unavailable, so perhaps Mauricio Pochettino could do with someone like Barco coming in. However, it looks like his bosses could be prepared to allow the Argentine to join Patrick Vieira at Strasbourg instead.

Still just a teenager and yet to play in Europe, Barco may not be ready for Chelsea’s first team just yet.
That is why the club could allow him to join Strasbourg instead. There he can get the taste of competing in a top European league and without the kind of pressure he would face at Stamford Bridge.
Barco looks like a really promising full-back, with SCOUTED Notebook describing him as a “super-talent”. And again, with all of their injury problems, he could be quite a logical signing.
However, it may still be a little bit too early for a move to Pochettino’s side for the Boca Juniors star.
The likelihood, then, is Levi Colwill remaining at left-back with Chilwell and Cucurella competing with him for that spot when they come back from their injuries.
Given Chilwell’s injury record, though, it would not be a surprise if Chelsea did sign a new left-back in the near future, with Barco being a player the club seem to appreciate.
