Molde striker David Datro Fofana admitted he dreams of playing in the Premier League amid rumours of his imminent transfer to Chelsea.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a potential move to Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a deal between Chelsea and Molde is already in place, and Fofana himself has agreed a long-term contract on personal terms with the London club.
Having made a name for himself as a striker at Molde, it is perhaps inevitable that he has earned comparisons to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland despite his disapproval.
However, the young striker is clearly keen on following in Haaland’s footsteps career path-wise.

“We cannot make the comparison. I don’t want to do that,” Fofana told Norwegian outlet Nettavisen.
“Haaland is at an extreme level and everyone agrees with his capacity.
“I don’t want to compare us at all. The only thing I know is that in football, anything can happen.
“Maybe I can get where he is in a few years.
“We don’t know, but I want to become a big player. England is my dream. I think it fits my playing style well.
“I can play elsewhere too, but I prefer England. The style there is strong and technical – they always move forward.”
Well, based on recent reports, Fofana could realise his dream at Chelsea.
The Evening Standard recently claimed that there is a possibility that Fofana, alongside a couple of other possible young Chelsea recruits, might have to spend the second half of the season on loan.
So he might have to wait for a Premier League debut.
But based on his output for Molde in the past year, including 15 goals and five assists in 24 appearances in Norway’s top division Eliteserien, he looks capable of breaking into this Chelsea side that desperately need more firepower up front.
