The Granit Xhaka saga continues to drag on with Sunderland and Chelsea on different pages.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is personally pushing to sign Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka to lead the Blues under his management.

Having seen Xhaka and Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen, it comes as no surprise to see the Spaniard wanting to link up with him at Stamford Bridge, as he perfectly fits the profile of a proven leader at Chelsea.

However, there are some difficulties currently, as Chelsea want to sign the midfielder and he wants to join up with Alonso, but Sunderland are doing everything they can to keep him.
