The real reason why clubs don’t want to spend on Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah

It does not look like Chelsea are going to be getting a transfer fee for Trevoh Chalobah today.

Clubs are reluctant to pay good money for Trevoh Chalobah because of his lack of game time this season, according to football.london.

In fact, the central defender is yet to actually kick a ball under Mauricio Pochettino because of injury.

It now looks like Chalobah will be staying at Stamford Bridge until the end of the campaign.

However, you would still expect the former England U21 international to leave Chelsea at some point. At present, there are quite a few other centre-backs above him in the pecking order.

Clubs do not want to pay big money for Trevoh Chalobah

It is not a shock that clubs are reluctant to fork out on Chalobah. As mentioned earlier, he has been injured all season.

As well as that, they probably know that Chelsea are happy to offload him and if that is the case, why would they spend so much money on a player not wanted by his current employers?

With Pochettino having the likes of Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile in his squad, he does not really need Chalobah and the player’s suitors know that.

However, with not long to go before the transfer window closes, it now seems unlikely that anyone is going to make a serious move for Chalobah. So his exit, whether it comes in the form of a permanent transfer or loan, will probably not come until the summer.
