Chelsea could sign another winger before the transfer window closes, with the Club World Cup winners interested in Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

Chelsea recently added Jamie Gittens to their squad but are about to sell Noni Madueke to Arsenal. They have also sent Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United, while Mykhailo Mudryk remains unavailable for selection.

It has been claimed that Liverpool are leading the race for Rodrygo, but the Blues still appear to have an interest in signing the 24-year-old this summer.

Rodrygo made over 50 appearances for Real Madrid last season, scoring 14 goals across those games.

Chelsea prepared to offer Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix to Real Madrid

While Rodrygo could join Chelsea in this transfer window, Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix could depart. And it looks like the Blues could try to use the duo to sign the Brazilian.

According to Real Madrid Confidential, Chelsea are willing to hand both Nkunku and Felix to Real Madrid in a potential swap deal.

However, there are doubts as to whether the Spanish club would be interested in doing such a deal.

Nkunku and Felix have been heavily linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, especially the latter, who is not part of Enzo Maresca‘s plans.

Currently out of Chelsea’s project, there has been plenty of talk about Felix possibly returning to Benfica.

Why Chelsea signing Rodrygo remains a possibility

A lot of things need to happen if Rodrygo is to end up in west London, but a transfer to Chelsea is not impossible.

While the Brazil international is thought to be attracting interest from plenty of top clubs, Real Madrid Confidential’s report claims that he has not made a decision on his future yet.

That is good news for Chelsea, who may be able to convince Rodrygo to join them before the transfer market closes. Agreeing a deal with Real Madrid and meeting the player’s wage demands could prove tricky, though.
