Journalist Andy Brassell has told Football Daily that there is suggestion that Chelsea have already agreed a deal to sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.
The defender has been the talk of the town in terms of a big future transfer following his displays at the World Cup for Croatia.
The 20-year-old’s performances have helped the European side to the semi-finals of the World Cup, where they have the chance to become back-to-back finalists.

Pundits around the world have been extremely complimentary of Gvardiol, in what has been a true breakout tournament for him.
Chelsea did try and secure a deal for the defender late in the summer, however were unsuccessful in their efforts.
Despite this, Brassell has claimed that there is talk that a deal is confirmed ahead of likely the next summer transfer window.
Chelsea pushing for Gvardiol
He said: “I think he ends up at Chelsea. We talked about that Rudiger shaped hole. Chelsea have been interested in him for a while. There is suggestion that Chelsea have even sealed a deal for next summer, and maybe he’ll stay there for the rest of the season, at RB Leipzig.
“He can play left-back, or he can play third centre-back. It’s been a set of really mature performances all the way through this tournament.”

His brilliance has shown that he has the capabilities to make the step up from Leipzig to one of the elite sides in Europe.
With Thiago Silva looking like he is surely on the way out soon, the Blues are desperate to replace his quality with one of the most promising stars in Europe.
Despite already hoping Kalidou Koulibaly can fill that void, this could see a space come up on the left of the three, the area Gvardiol suits the best.
