Thomas Tuchel has just made a £60m bid for Harry Kane – a player Chelsea were expected to move for this summer.

That is according to 90min.

So, what is the latest on Harry Kane? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, an earlier story from 90min claimed that Tottenham expect Chelsea to make an approach for the England international this summer, as he only has 12 months remaining on his contract.

While talk of Chelsea moving for Kane has since died down a little, Bayern Munich have now decided to launch a bid for the Tottenham talisman.

90min believe Tuchel has convinced Bayern Munich to offer Spurs a £60m package for the 29-year-old which also includes add-ons.

It is also said that Tottenham have denied receiving any bid for Kane, and if one of this nature does arrive, it is going to be rejected – Daniel Levy still believes he can convince the Spurs No.10 to stay, and even sign a new deal.

PSG have also shown interest in Tottenham’s all-time top scorer, while Real Madrid are keeping an eye on his situation after losing Karim Benzema to Al-Ittihad.

Bayern Munich are looking to replace Robert Lewandowski – who left for Barcelona last summer – after the signing of Sadio Mane proved not to be a success.

Interest in Kane from Europe’s elite sides comes after he somehow scored 32 goals for a struggling Tottenham side in the 2022/23 campaign.

Chelsea will surely be charged extra for Harry Kane

In our view, Chelsea will not find it easy to negotiate with Levy, given their status as Tottenham’s rivals.

The Spurs Chairman is a seriously tough operator, and he would surely whack a huge surplus fee onto whatever he may deem to be an acceptable bid from Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or PSG should Chelsea come knocking.

Therefore, we feel it may be best for the Blues to focus their energy elsewhere, perhaps on a deal to sign Victor Osimhen or Dusan Vlahovic.

Nevertheless, be sure to keep an eye on the Kane saga, as anything could happen.
