Chelsea’s first-team defender is reportedly on the radar of a Champions League trio in this January transfer window.

It’s going to be interesting to see what players leave the Chelsea squad this month, especially after developments on Wednesday.

It’s been claimed that Chelsea have recalled Trevoh Chalobah from his season-long loan at Crystal Palace. Apparently, the 25-year-old central defender will immediately return to Stamford Bridge and join up with the Blues group.

Therefore, could see see any defenders leave the club in the opposite direction?

Champions League clubs line up Axel Disasi

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea will let Axel Disasi leave in January if they receive an appropriate offer.

The report claims that Juventus, Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen are all considering moves for the 26-year-old Blues player. It’s a credit to the struggling centre-half that he’s still attracting interest from three clubs competing in this season’s Champions League group stages.

Disasi’s fallen down the pecking order at the club this campaign, so it’s no real surprise that he’s linked with a move away. In fact, he’s only started four times in the Premier League so far.

Newcastle were interested in Chelsea defender Disasi last summer, but it now looks like he could be offered a route abroad.

Enzo Maresca changed his mind on Axel Disasi

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has definitely performed a U-turn regarding Disasi.

If you rewind to last summer, Maresca rated Disasi as a Chelsea defender after admitting he’s one of the reasons there was no room for Chalobah in the squad.

However, it’s been claimed this week that Maresca is happy for Disasi to leave Chelsea this month after a conversation.

Disasi, 26, is actually one of the more experienced individuals in a very young squad, so they’ll lose his leadership if he does leave mid-season. However, he’s nowhere near the club’s best XI right now, even with current injuries in defence.
