There’s reportedly confidence at Tottenham that they will be able to secure the signing of a Chelsea first-team player during this summer transfer window.

Chelsea appear to be just as busy with outgoings as incomings right now. Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson have all left Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.

In addition, Dylan Williams has joined Burton Albion on loan, which includes a view to making the signing a permanent deal in 2025.

Tottenham confident they can land Conor Gallagher for just £30m

The Athletic claimed this week that Chelsea value Conor Gallagher somewhere between £40m to £50m.

According to TEAMtalk, Spurs are ‘confident’ they can secure a deal to sign Gallagher for around £30m.

It is explained that the 24-year-old midfielder is happy with the Blues, but he’s got to reduce his wage demands or he’ll be sold in this window. Apparently, the England star’s demands are currently too high and more than Chelsea are prepared to pay.

The Chelsea Chronicle would be disappointed if a player of Gallagher’s quality leaves for just £30m, especially to a London rival. But it’s worth noting he’s about to enter the final year of his contract.

There may be some hope from the fact that CaughtOffside reports Chelsea and Gallagher are in contract talks.

He would leave behind a sizeable void

Gallagher’s certainly not everyone’s cup of tea as a player, but there’s no denying he brings a lot on and off the pitch to Chelsea. Let’s remember he’s one of the few individuals that remained consistent in his performances during a rocky 2023/24 season.

Speaking on talkSPORT back in April, Joe Cole called Gallagher “influential” to Chelsea. He made an interesting comparison to former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, too.

The Blues midfield will definitely miss Gallagher’s running power if he leaves.
