Tottenham have now cooled interest in £45m Chelsea player due to huge concern

Tottenham Hotspur are no longer interested in signing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham were keen on Trevoh Chalobah and considered bringing him in at the end of the last transfer window.

However, the same outlet claims that Spurs have concerns over his recent injury problems and have now cooled their interest in the Chelsea man.

Chalobah is yet to play a game for the Blues this season because of an issue with his hamstring.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund’s reported interest in the centre-back also appears to have cooled. In October, TEAMtalk claimed that Chelsea were prepared to sell him for £45m.

Trevoh Chalobah running out of options

At this rate, Chalobah may not have too many clubs to choose from if he does decide he wants to leave Chelsea in January.

However, that is likely to be down to his injury problems, rather than him being a bad player.

The 24-year-old has actually proven to be quite a useful footballer for Chelsea, playing in central defence and at right-back. There probably will be some clubs who like that.

Again, though, because he has not been fit this season, there may not be too much interest in Chalobah. Perhaps, then, remaining at Stamford Bridge before leaving next summer is something the former England U21 international will have to consider.

It is not exactly clear, at least not any more, when Chalobah will depart west London. But you would still expect him to leave Mauricio Pochettino‘s side at some point.

Pochettino cannot guarantee him any minutes because he has the likes of Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile whom he has to keep satisfied. There is just not enough room for all of these central defenders at Stamford Bridge, making an exit for Chalobah and possibly even another name possible.
