Tottenham now really like ‘fantastic’ Chelsea player rated by Pochettino, he’s joining pre-season on Monday

Tottenham are big admirers of Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill right now.

That is according to journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

Kinsella has reported on Twitter this afternoon that Spurs are yet another Premier League side that do really like Levi Colwill.

It is understood that Spurs are currently chasing Wolfsburg’s Micky Van de Ven to improve their defence this summer, but Chelsea’s young centre-half is also on their radar.

He adds that Mauricio Pochettino’s side don’t plan to let the 20-year-old go in this transfer window, though.

Kinsella has shared that Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester City and Brighton all like Colwill.

The English centre-back is certainly a popular name in the transfer rumour mill, but Chelsea supporters are hoping for some confirmation and clarity that he’ll be playing his football at Stamford Bridge next season. After all, he’s the latest rising star from the Blues academy at Cobham.

Kinsella said: “Tottenham another club that like Levi Colwill. Currently in talks for Wolfsburg defender Micky Van de Ven instead but it could collapse.

“Chelsea’s stance is not for sale, he will join pre-season on Monday and they want renew his deal.

“Brighton, Liverpool and Man City interested.”

The Evening Standard has reported that Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino rates Colwill and will hold one-to-one talks with him when he’s back for pre-season. As mentioned above, that will be next Monday just before the squad flies to the United States for the summer tour.

He’s fresh off the back of a great season-long loan at Brighton last year. He was integral in England winning the Under-21s UEFA European Championship this summer, too.

We continue to see numerous top clubs linked with the Blues rising star, which is no surprise when you consider he looks like the complete centre-back.

However, we’re desperate to watch him grow and improve as part of the Chelsea first team.

Described as “fantastic” last season by Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi (The Argus), Colwill is destined for the very top.
