Tottenham are now interested in signing Chelsea player Conor Gallagher.

That is according to a report this morning from The Telegraph.

They claim that Spurs are eyeing Conor Gallagher this summer as a potential replacement for their 27-year-old midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who’s linked with a move to Atletico Madrid or Germany.

It is understood that Chelsea currently value Gallagher at around £50million.

The report adds that Mauricio Pochettino admires the 23-year-old Blues star and any transfer will come down to whether he is viewed as someone who can be sold.

Journalist Matt Law told the ‘London is Blue’ podcast last month that Pochettino and his staff are “excited” about working with Gallagher at Chelsea.

If that’s true, the Blues shouldn’t consider getting rid of someone who’s part of the manager’s plans.

In fact, it’s crucial this new-look squad is built around his wishes.

Described as “fantastic” last season by Graham Potter (Football.London), Gallagher is a player we feel has a lot more to offer at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s academy graduate displayed glimpses last year of the excellent form he showed out on loan at Crystal Palace in the 2021/22 season, but overall didn’t quite live up to expectation.

However, the box-to-box central midfielder still has a lot of potential and could benefit from this fresh start under Pochettino.
