Yan Diomande is set to feature as one of the more prominent figures in the upcoming summer window with Chelsea battling Europe’s biggest clubs to land the RB Leipzig winger.
Having joined the German club from Spanish minnows Leganes in the summer, Diomande has thrown himself onto the world stage this season. Still only 19, Diomande has had a hand in 22 goals in 25-26.
Scoring 13 times, Diomande has also laid on nine assists in just 33 appearances and given his age, the Ivory Coast international is attracting attention from Europe’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer.
Yan Diomande could replace Alejandro Garnacho at Chelsea
He's been on fire this season 🔥
A recent report said that actually, Chelsea had the ‘upper hand’ over Barcelona in the race to land his signature. But a new twist has come to light, with Leipzig showing their hand before the window starts.
RB Leipzig’s last roll of the dice to keep Yan Diomande
Chelsea’s policy of buying young and developing players has not worked, but at Leipzig, it could not have worked any better. Of course, BlueCo could take some tips – they have kept some older players, too.
Diomande has thrived. Now rated at £60m at the very least, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, Leipzig have made a last-ditch attempt to convince Diomande to remain at the Bundesliga club beyond the summer.

It is something he will seriously consider, given he has only been in Germany for one season and may feel it will aid his development to get more game time. Leipzig have offered Diomande a new, big contract.
As things stand, Diomande is contracted to Leipzig until June 2030 but according to TMW’s report, the new deal would extend that until 2031 and make him one of the club’s highest-paid players.
What Yan Diomande has said about his future at Leipzig
The report reiterates that Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal have all made enquiries to sign Diomande and have been told that unless they are willing to offer £60m, Leipzig won’t entertain it. A bidding war is likely.
Speaking earlier this month about his future at Leipzig, Diomande kept his cards close to his chest but did not rule out an exit in the coming months. He said: “I’m here, and first and foremost, I have my health.

Who are you sacrificing? 👋
“Hearing these rumors about big clubs like PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool, and others interested in me only motivates me even more. I’m keeping a smile on my face, staying cheerful, and pushing forward.”
With Liverpool also looking at Diomande as a replacement for Mo Salah, the Leipzig star has his pick of Europe’s best clubs this summer. Whether he does actually decide to leave, remains to be seen.
