Joao Felix is now attracting interest from Aston Villa and Wolves after Chelsea rejected the chance to sign him from Atlético Madrid.
That is according to MARCA in Spain.
So, what is the latest on Joao Felix after he left Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Portugal international impressed at Stamford Bridge after joining Chelsea on loan from Atlético Madrid in January, despite the fact he scored just four goals in 20 appearances.
Gary Neville even suggested that Chelsea were foolish to not include an option to sign the Viseu-born forward permanently in the loan agreement.
However – as confirmed by Atlético Madrid President Enrique Cerezo – Mauricio Pochettino rejected the chance to sign Felix on a permanent deal.
Now, the 23-year-old could be set for a swift return to the Premier League.

MARCA believe Aston Villa and Wolves are interested in signing the Atlético Madrid No.7 this summer, and represent the likeliest destinations for him.
Unai Emery is said to feel he can revive Felix at Villa Park and wants him on board as the Villans prepare to take on the UEFA Europa Conference League.
In regards to Wolves, Jorge Mendes has a strong relationship with those at Molineux, and could help to push through a deal for his client if Julen Lopetegui signals a strong desire to sign the attacker.
Joao Felix update proves Chelsea right
Some Chelsea fans were disappointed to hear that Felix would not be returning to Stamford Bridge.
However, the fact that only Aston Villa and Wolves are currently showing an interest suggests Chelsea were right not to turn his loan deal into a permanent move.
Chelsea need to offload a lot of deadwood this summer, and it would not have made sense to add Felix to the group on the basis of four goals in 20 appearances, regardless of his obvious potential to do better.

Of course, if Felix is still with Atlético Madrid on deadline day and Chelsea haven’t found a new striker, a cut-price deal would make sense to pursue.
However – as things stand – Chelsea were right to decline a permanent deal for Felix with Aston Villa and Wolves now his likeliest destinations.
