Chelsea travelled to the United States this summer with a strong squad for the Club World Cup tournament, but one individual is now expected to leave on loan.

The Blues have taken the Club World Cup competition seriously, and they’ve got their rewards by reaching the final.

Next, Enzo Maresca’s side will face favourites Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s cup final.

It will be interesting to see how many of the current group in the United States will make up Chelsea’s squad for the 2025/26 season. Apparently, Blues head coach Maresca wants a first-team squad of 22 or 23 players going into next term.

Tyrique George to be loaned out by Chelsea

According to The Guardian, Chelsea youngster Tyrique George is ‘likely’ to go on loan next season.

The 19-year-old winger, who’s played two games at the Club World Cup so far, has made an impressive breakthrough into the first team from the Blues academy this campaign. However, the latest noise is that he will be temporarily leaving Stamford Bridge to help his development.

Previous reports claimed that Chelsea’s George is attracting transfer interest as the club looks into loaning him out.

It now sounds like the teenage attacker will be on the move in the summer window.

George has definitely made his mark since coming into Chelsea’s senior group under Maresca, providing extra depth in the wide areas. It’s a thankless task trying to force his way into the best XI because of the extreme competition for places, though.

Blues defender Tosin Adarabioyo described George as “very talented”, adding that he’s always striving to improve as a player.

Tyrique George loan feels like a no-brainer

We would 100 per cent be behind sending George out on loan next season to experience regular first-team action on a weekly basis.

While the Chelsea academy graduate is good enough to stay in Maresca’s squad next year, his development could be fast-tracked by playing somewhere else.

Back in May, George insisted his goal is to play football, so giving him a chance to do that out on loan should suit all parties. We anticipate that a lot of top-flight teams would want to sign the English talent, too.

Chelsea will still have plenty of options in wide areas without George because of the imminent arrivals of Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian to the senior group.
