Tottenham Hotspur are in contact with Chelsea over a potential deal for Conor Gallagher.

That is according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist has taken to Twitter to share an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Conor Gallagher.

On the midfielder’s possible move across London, Sheth said: “Tottenham want to do a deal for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher. Contact between clubs over conditions of a deal. Tottenham likely to need to offload players first.”

Tottenham face having to pay a big fee for Gallagher, with The Guardian reporting that Chelsea value the 23-year-old at £50m.

The same outlet also claims that Bayern Munich are interested in him, so Spurs could face some serious competition for his signature.

Gallagher has started all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far, yet it appears that the Blues are still open to letting him go.

Conor Gallagher’s game time could decrease

While Gallagher is playing now, his minutes could drop as the season goes on.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are nailed on starters for Chelsea, considering how much they cost the club, while Romeo Lavia is another name the England international will have to compete against once he returns from injury.

Gallagher is a Chelsea boy but, when you consider the above, you could not blame him for joining Tottenham. They may be able to offer him more minutes, while it also seems that the Blues would not mind if he left as they try to balance the books after a summer of heavy spending.
