Tottenham Hotspur have not spoken to Chelsea about Conor Gallagher since last August.
Conor Gallagher continues to be heavily linked with a move to Tottenham and at the end of December, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on X that they were back in talks with their London rivals over a potential deal.
However, Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport that there has been no contact between Spurs and Chelsea since the summer.
Gallagher’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain with his contract expiring in 2025, but he has not let that impact his performances.
The midfielder is currently the highest-rated Chelsea player on WhoScored, ranking even above Cole Palmer.
Chelsea and Tottenham not currently discussing Conor Gallagher
According to Romano, Chelsea and Tottenham have not spoken about Gallagher for a while.
On the Englishman, the transfer expert said: “Even if we had rumours at the end of December about negotiations between Chelsea and Tottenham for Gallagher, from what I heard, the last contact between the two clubs was in August 2023, when Tottenham tried to make it happen in the final days of the summer window. The two clubs have never spoken again about Gallagher.”
Tottenham still considering signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea
While Tottenham may not have talked to Chelsea directly about signing Gallagher since the last transfer window, it looks like they could still make a move for him in this one.
As per The Guardian, Spurs are weighing up a swoop for the 23-year-old this week.
If they do not land him, there is always the possibility of the club doing a deal at the end of the season. If Gallagher has not signed a contract extension by then, Chelsea are going to have to consider a sale.
Fail to do that, and the Blues will probably lose the England international for nothing in 2025.
