Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech is reportedly open to leaving England and joining a club abroad.
Ziyech, who’s been a Blues player since 2020, is now ready to complete a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The £100,000-a-week Chelsea winger has had a really inconsistent time in the Premier League, failing to really recapture the top form he showed in Ajax colours.
Despite a really quiet season so far at club level, Ziyech is currently shining on the World Cup stage for surprise package Morocco. The left-footed attacker will hope to inspire the African side when they play France tonight in a World Cup semi-final, with the winner facing Argentina on Sunday in the final.
Ziyech open to leaving England
Journalist Dean Jones has shared information he’s heard about Ziyech, which is that he may be willing to move away from England.
Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I honestly think he’s a bit more open to joining a club outside of England if he gets the opportunity to do that. That’s just from what I’m hearing.
“Obviously, AC Milan still have an interest, so maybe that’s the avenue he looks to go down.”
AC Milan’s interest in Ziyech has been widely speculated about in the transfer rumour mill. For example, Corriere dello Sport claimed last month that the Serie A champions were keen on signing the Morocco international in January.
If Graham Potter can see a way of using Ziyech in his Chelsea line-up, the club should hold talks with the player when he returns from the World Cup and convince him to stay.
However, he simply needs more minutes than he’s had in the opening half of the season.
He’s going to be flying high with confidence post-World Cup, so Chelsea could benefit massively from that if they deploy the right system.
If not, cashing in and selling him next month is a fair alternative.
