Chelsea could now be able to sign Kylian Mbappe on loan from PSG for the 2023/24 campaign.
That is according to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports.
So, what is the latest on Kylian Mbappe and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to RMC Sport – Chelsea are keen to sign the France international after PSG put him up for sale.
The Parisians believe Mbappe has agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer, and are determined not to lose their £166m man for nothing, hence why he is now up for sale in the current window.
Now, Solhekol of Sky Sports has claimed that PSG would even be willing to agree to a loan exit.
He said: “What I’ve been told is, PSG are prepared to let him leave on loan for next season. So, if you’re a club who wants to get him, you don’t have to worry about necessarily paying a transfer fee, you can just take him on loan for one season, and all you have to do is agree to pay his wages.
“As far as PSG are concerned, they just want him to go. I think it’s a very interesting development that PSG are willing to listen to loan offers, because that opens up the market to lots of clubs.
“I’ve also been told that PSG have had a mix of offers. Two or three clubs from the Premier League as well.”

Now, that would only make sense for PSG if there was a fixed agreement on a fee to be paid next summer, as Mbappe only has one season left on his contract in Paris.
Therefore, it seems as if Solhekol has missed out a key detail.
Nevertheless, this opens up a door for Chelsea – if PSG really are open to a loan with a payment made next summer.
Chelsea could sign Mbappe on loan
A story from Marca in Spain claimed that Financial Fair Play is preventing Chelsea from making a genuine move for Mbappe, as more sales are needed.

However, if PSG agree to an initial loan, with payment arriving next summer, that changes the picture for Chelsea.
Of course, it will still be tough for Chelsea to convince the PSG No.7 to join without any European football at Stamford Bridge next season, although anything could happen this summer.
