Chelsea and Manchester United are currently embroiled in difficult negotiations over a deal for Mason Mount.
The Red Devils last offered £55m for the England international, although the Blues are holding out for £65m after it became clear the Chelsea No.19 would not be signing a new contract.
Now, Manchester United‘s thoughts on Chelsea amid the Mason Mount saga have been made clear.
What’s the story?
Well, Erik ten Hag’s side believe they are being treated differently in their pursuit of the 24-year-old.
A story from The Times claims that Manchester United made a note of how quickly Chelsea negotiated a deal for Mateo Kovacic with Manchester City, as if to suggest the Citizens were looked at favourably.
It was something of a throwaway line in the article with little room for any elaboration, although it gives an insight into how agitated Manchester United are becoming in this particular transfer saga.
In our view, there is not really a comparison to be made between Kovacic and Mount’s respective situations.

Manchester City simply paid what Chelsea asked for when it comes to the Croatia international.
In regards to Mount, Manchester United have continuously lowballed with bids far below the £65m asking price, so those at Old Trafford cannot really claim they’ve been hard done by in any way.
Manchester United wasting everybody’s time in Mason Mount saga
According to the BBC, Manchester United’s most recent bid for Mount – their third offer – was worth £55m.
That same report states that Chelsea are even willing to be flexible with their asking price by accepting an initial £58m with the remaining £7m made up in add-ons.

Manchester United have delayed their own summer plans as well as Chelsea’s by dragging the Mount saga out this long, and if they refuse to bid £3m more to satisfy the Blues, then talks should be scrapped by those at Stamford Bridge.
The two English giants are not far away from an agreement by any means – now, the ball is in Ten Hag’s court with Manchester United just a few million away from Chelsea’s asking price.
