Chelsea continue their search for a central midfielder this summer, with Ethan Nwaneri and Lucas Bergvall two of the names on the list.

Plenty of the talk at Chelsea has been about potential exits of late, as Marc Cucurella decided to pack his bags and head back to Spain to join Real Madrid. And it may not stop there. Enzo Fernandez wants to follow his Blues teammate to the Spanish capital, having flirted with leaving for some time now.

Therefore, a central midfielder is on the radar, even with Valentin Barco joining from Strasbourg.

That leads us to Chelsea’s interest in Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille in Ligue 1.

And fellow Premier League midfielder Lucas Bergvall is the other target.

Chelsea are not pursuing Lucas Bergvall and Ethan Nwaneri

The ever-reliable Kieran Gill has shared what he’s been hearing about Chelsea’s transfer business, focusing on the rumours involving Lucas Bergvall and Ethan Nwaneri.

His report in the Daily Mail states that this.

‘I heard two names of potential interest, but checking with relevant contacts inside of Chelsea, the feedback I received was that Chelsea are not currently in for Bergvall or Nwaneri.’

Chelsea’s interest in Bergvall comes as no surprise, given the fact that the Blues have already tried to sign the midfielder before.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have different relationships

Transfers between London’s three biggest clubs vary.

Chelsea and Arsenal have done business on several occasions, including players like Ashley Cole, Olivier Giroud, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling, and Noni Madueke.

In stark contrast, direct business between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur is exceptionally rare. The most notable switches include midfielder Gus Poyet joining Tottenham for £3 million in 2001 and goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini moving to Spurs on a free transfer in 2009.

Backup keeper Neil Sullivan also moved to Chelsea in 2003, and defender Jason Cundy joined Spurs in 1992.
