Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has made Robert Sanchez his No.1 and looks happy with him.
Chelsea also signed Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal during the summer, and the 22-year-old has not disappointed when he has got a chance between the sticks.
Jorgensen made some excellent saves against Southampton in the Premier League and Heidenheim in the Conference League, helping the Blues to earn wins on both occasions.
Nevertheless, Chelsea have still been linked with goalkeepers. For example, it was recently claimed that Chelsea are interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel.

Are Chelsea in the market for a new goalkeeper?
Maresca has tried to shut down talk about Chelsea potentially signing a new goalkeeper, constantly giving Sanchez a public vote of confidence.
Yet a couple of sources have told journalist Simon Phillips that the club are actually in the market for a shot-stopper.
On his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, Phillips wrote: “I asked my top source about the reports shutting down new goalkeeper links and his response was: ‘No comment. We are in the goalkeeper market, I can guarantee you that’. Another top source also said: ‘We are 100% looking at new goalkeepers’.”
Sanchez put in a solid performance against Brentford on Sunday, but he has been quite inconsistent for Chelsea this season, making a few high-profile mistakes.
What exactly has Enzo Maresca said about Robert Sanchez?
Again, Maresca has endorsed Sanchez publicly since arriving at Stamford Bridge on more than one occasion.
For example, following Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Brentford, the 44-year-old said to football.london and other outlets: “Robert is doing fantastic, Filip is doing exactly the same in the Conference League. This is what we want; two goalkeepers that can compete and help us win games.”
All things considered, it does not look like Maresca is unhappy with Sanchez, otherwise he would have dropped him for Jorgensen by now.
Whether Chelsea as a club, though, are on the same page as their manager remains to be seen.
Given how well Jorgensen has backed up Sanchez this season, there probably is not a need for the Blues to go out and sign a new goalkeeper, especially not until the Denmark U21 international gets a proper run between the sticks.
Mike Penders is also set to link up with Chelsea next summer. Chelsea believe Penders is special, so it may not be wise to bring in another shot-stopper and potentially block his way into the first team and his development.
