Andy Jacobs is completely baffled by Chelsea making a transfer move to sign Benoit Badiashile from Monaco.
Badiashile, 21, is a young defender who’s expected to become a Chelsea player this month, according to multiple sources.
Football London claimed a couple of days ago that the centre-back was in London for his medical ahead of a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The Evening Standard say Graham Potter’s side have reached a £33million agreement with Monaco for the youngster, who’s set to pen a six-and-a-half year deal.
Journalist Ben Jacobs suggests on Twitter it’s just a matter of time before the club make an official announcement, too.

Andy Jacobs baffled by Benoit Badiashile move
TalkSPORT pundit Andy Jacobs has spoken pretty negatively about the imminent Badiashile arrival in west London.
He’s stunned that Chelsea are going out to sign an emerging left-footed centre-half when they already own 19-year-old Levi Colwill, who’s currently doing well this season out on loan at Brighton.
“They’ve just bought this bloke for £33million from Monaco and they’ve got Colwill at Brighton. They’ve got a left-sided young centre-back. Why are they buying another one?” Jacobs told talkSPORT.

Badiashile, who’s got two senior caps for France, is definitely an exciting signing given his potential.
You can understand why the Blues want to reinforce the heart of their defence in January due to injuries and form in the current squad.
However, Jacobs raised a fair point about how this deal could impact Colwill.
If Colwill continues to play and impress in Brighton colours during his loan, there should be a genuine path for him into the first-team group at Stamford Bridge next season.
