Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha was full of praise for on-loan Chelsea talent Conor Gallagher’s energetic display in the 2-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday.
A couple of days ago, Ian Wright spoke about how Chelsea can no longer Gallagher’s “consistently good” performances at Palace.
The 21-year-old once again proved why he has impressed so many pundits with a man-of-the-match display against Pep Guardiola’s men.
The versatile midfielder made the assist for Zaha’s opening goal before putting the game to bed with his own goal in the last minutes of the second half.
Overall, Gallagher created four chances in the game, as well as making five tackles and two interceptions defensively.
Zaha unsurprisingly described him as the difference-maker in the game.

“Conor Gallagher brings a lot of energy,” the Ivory Coast international said after the game (via MEN).
“I needed people to link up with, and it makes a mass difference when he helps out.
“I feel like we have had a threat but the difference now is that we keep the ball from the back and build and make our chances. We are exploiting our talent.”

Interestingly, Gallagher himself admitted that he defied Patrick Vieira’s instruction to defend deep in order to score his goal.
“I should not have even been in the box,” he explained.
“The boss told me to sit in, but I just had a feeling I could get a chance, and thankfully I was able to finish it.
“When you come to Manchester City you naturally defend more and work a little bit harder. We were brilliant defensively.”
