'Will leave': Chelsea have now opened talks to sign £43m title winner - Romano

Chelsea have reportedly opened talks in their bid to sign Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus this summer.

Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that Chelsea have made contact for the 25-year-old star.

It is understood that Chelsea and Arsenal are among the clubs to make contact with the Brazilian’s agents, with the latter hoping to take him to the Emirates Stadium as a priority striker.

Romano explains he’ll cost at least €50million (£43million). However, Jesus’ future is that he “will leave” Man City, and his situation will become clearer soon.

Chelsea opened talks for Jesus

This latest report on Jesus suggests Chelsea are well in the mix for his signature.

The Man City forward is the kind of player that can help transform the attack at Stamford Bridge, so is someone Blues supporters can get excited about.

He finished the most recent season as a Premier League title winner, picking up a top-flight league medal in England for the fourth time in his career.

The Brazilian attacker, who’s comfortable on the wings or down the middle, is just five short of 100 goals for Man City in 236 appearances.

If he can be picked up for a near-£40million transfer cost, it looks like one that could turn out to be real bargain for money further down the line.

Brazilian flair

Chelsea’s recent history has seen them enjoy the services of some excellent South American stars, especially from Brazil.

Thiago Silva’s a legendary Brazilian figure in the current squad, along with fringe player Kenedy.

The likes of Willian, Oscar, Ramires and David Luiz are some ex-Chelsea players to light up Stamford Bridge with their Brazilian flair.
