Chelsea-owned player Malang Sarr is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United – and some Toon fans on Twitter claim they would love to sign him on loan.
According to the Daily Express, Newcastle are considering the 22-year-old Blues defender as a loan target. Also, Ethan Ampadu is on their radar.
The report states that Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea would be willing to let both players exit on loan this summer.
Sarr, who joined Chelsea in 2020, is yet to play a competitive first-team game for the London club. He’s featured in pre-season, but is quite far down the defensive pecking order.
The left-footed centre-back was sent out on loan to Portuguese club Porto last season and he featured regularly in the Champions League. In addition, the youngster has the experience of 119 first-team appearances for French side Nice under his belt.
It seems unlikely he’ll got a look-in at Stamford Bridge this year, so perhaps a loan to a league rival makes sense to give him his first taste of English football.
Newcastle fans love rumour about Malang Sarr loan
A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media would love to take Sarr on loan to St James’ Park.
Steve Bruce’s squad is in need of another centre-half, so it could be a deal to suit all parties.
It looks like a long way to break into the Chelsea first team, but Trevoh Chalobah is proving right now what’s possible.
