Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka has been included in FourFourTwo‘s annual list of the top 50 most exciting teenagers in world football.

Chukwuemeka, who’s still only 19, finished 10th position.

He’s still tying to gain regular first-team minutes during his debut season at Chelsea, but it’s obvious he’s a highly-rated talent.

Elsewhere, Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala, and Benjamin Sesko finished as the top three teenagers, in that order.

Signed for £20million (Sky Sports) from Aston Villa in the summer, Chukwuemeka has come straight into the senior fold at Stamford Bridge.

However, the all-action central midfielder has spent most of the campaign so far on the bench during a match day.

He’s made four appearances to date this season, including a late cameo during the 1-1 Premier League draw against Nottingham Forest on New Years’s Day.

Hopefully, it’s a sign of more minutes to come during 2023.

With Chelsea really struggling as a team for creativity from the centre of the park, Chelsea boss Graham Potter needs to consider unleashing the raw talent of Chukwuemeka a bit more.

Described as “powerful” by Potter, Chukwuemeka has great physical attributes for someone so young. He’s a great technician, too.

It feels like the Blues are crying out for a fresh spark in their side, so they should turn to someone that cost £20million and is tipped for greatness.

In our view, Potter has to throw him into the deep end with a start in this weekend’s FA Cup third round tie against Manchester City.

He’s been training alongside his teammates for a few months now and fans are desperate to see him.
