Report: Chelsea youngster who Petr Cech is a massive fan of in talks to join rival Premier League club
Reports have claimed that Chelsea could be set to lose highly-rated youngster Jude Soonsup-Bell.
According to the Evening Standard, Manchester City are in talks to bring the 18-year-old in at the end of the season, when his contract runs out.
Soonsup-Bell has one appearance for the Chelsea first team, when the squad was heavily hit by Covid last season.
The striker featured against Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-final last season alongside a number of other youngsters, as Thomas Tuchel looked to steer the club through weeks and months of crisis.
This performance seemingly caught the eye of Chelsea legend Petr Cech.
Working at the club at the time, the former goalkeeper heaped praise on the 18-year-old, as well as teammates on the day Harvey Vale and Xavi Simons.
Now though, the Blues could be set to let another talented youngster slip through the net. The Evening Standard have claimed that the club currently expect their forward to leave next summer.
Soonsup-Bell set to leave
Chelsea’s summer spending could have made things much more difficult for Soonsup-Bell to break through to the first team setup.
Todd Boehly was not afraid to spend money on young stars in the summer. He spent a large sum of money on bringing in Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa.
There was also plenty of money spent on youngsters who were sent on loan this year. This included Cesare Casadei and Gabriel Slonina.
Then there are of course the players who are currently starring for the club’s academy sides.
Omari Hutchinson has come in from Arsenal and captured the attention of everyone at Cobham. This led to him being called up to the bench for the last Premier League game against Brighton.
With all of this competition, it may be best for Soonsup-Bell’s future to find himself a new home.
