Chelsea youngster Charlie Webster has established himself as something of a long-range merchant.

The 18-year-old has been in fine scoring form this season, and continued his excellent run with another goal last night.

Webster and his fellow Under-21 teammates took on West Ham United yesterday, a match that was streamed on the club’s official YouTube channel.

Although Mark Robinson’s side lost the London derby 3-2, the standout moment of the tie came from the Blues.

Charlie Webster wows again for Chelsea

With the Hammers 2-0 in the first-half, Webster decided to take matters into his own hands an offer Chelsea a route back into the match.

Just after the half an hour mark, the ball was teed up for the teenager just outside the penalty area by Malik Mothersille.

Without hesitation, Webster smashed his strike first time into the top corner, past the divining and ultimately hopeless West Ham goalkeeper.

This wonderful effort was not enough to secure victory in the capital, one that ended with Derrick Abu receiving a red card.

But it was another feather in Webster’s cap.

He has now scored six times this term, including more terrific tries from distance like the one witnessed against the Irons.

Leicester City were subject to a thunderbolt from the right boot of Chelsea’s academy graduate earlier in the month.

Perhaps some of Graham Potter’s senior squad could take a few lessons from Webster, as it’s been a while since any of them have converted a genuinely outstanding goal.
