Chelsea have become known for sending player’s out on loan, but who has been the top-performing loan star so far?
This season has seen four players who were out on loan last year come into the first team and make quite the impression. The likes of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori were on loan in the Championship last time out and are now seen as two of Chelsea’s top players.

The Blues have 27 players out on loan this season, with varying levels of success. The likes of Jake Clarke-Salter (Birmingham) and Izzy Brown (Luton) are impressing in the Championship, while Juan Castillo (Ajax) and Ethan Ampadu (RB Leipzig) are currently plying their trade abroad.
A number of more senior players are also out on loan this season. Victor Moses is at Fenerbahce, while Danny Drinkwater has spent time at Burnley.

Some have had more success than others, but one player out on loan has shone far above the rest so far this season. That player is Conor Gallagher.
The 19-year-old midfielder has played in all but one of Charlton’s Championship games and has been pivotal in what has been a decent season so far for The Addicks. He has scored six goals and provided three assists for his teammates, and is on course for a double-digit goal tally.

Gallagher’s performances have earned him his first England U-21 call ups, and some Chelsea fans are pleading that the club recall him in January. He has certainly been Chelsea’s top loan star this season and could be the latest to develop into a first-team star.
