Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka now looks so much bigger and stronger in new training photos to emerge this week.
In our view, Chukwuemeka is going through a physical transformation right now.
The 19-year-old Englishman completed a move last summer from Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge, making three first-team appearances so far this season.
If you see the image below, you’ll notice the teenage midfielder at the start of August after just completing his move to Chelsea. He’s got a 6ft 2in frame but looks a tad on the skinny side.

Chukwuemeka only turned 19 back in August, so is still only a youngster that may still be growing into his body.
He already looks like an all-action central midfielder with a presence in the centre of the park, so it’s bad news for opponents that he’s started to really bulk up.
A fresh picture of Chukwuemeka (see below) shows him sat alongside Chelsea’s Jorginho. It looks like night and day when you check out the definition on his arm muscles and shoulders, so perhaps he’s been working hard in the gym behind the scenes.

Carney Chukwuemeka looks bigger
Chukwuemeka already possesses explosive pace and power to dribble forward past players. It’s an area of his game that should be even better with more muscle, too.
Current Chelsea boss Graham Potter previously said the youngster has “exciting attributes”. He included him as part of the first-team group following his arrival at Stamford Bridge as well.
It would be great to see him get more minutes on the pitch and really stamp his authority in the squad during the second half of the season.
This physical development is certainly something to keep a close eye on.
Bundesliga watchers will know Bayern Munich are renowned for bulking up their players after signing them, something which may be happening here with Chukwuemeka.
