Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has shown a lot of creativity this season.

In truth, he has had to, with Mauricio Pochettino playing him a bit further forward at times. Still, he has proven to be a bit of a creative spark for his side in the current campaign.

According to WhoScored, Enzo Fernandez and his teammate Cole Palmer have five accurate through balls each in the top flight this season. Only West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta has made more with seven.

The 22-year-old is yet to register an assist, but that is probably more down to Chelsea’s poor finishing.

The above shows that Fernandez is more than capable of creating a good opportunity for a teammate.

Will Enzo Fernandez start against Manchester City?

Fernandez was on the receiving end of a horrible challenge from Cristian Romero on Monday and did look hurt.

However, it seems unlikely that he will miss Chelsea’s next Premier League game against City this Sunday after he posted a positive injury update on social media.

You would expect Fernandez to start, then, as he is such an important player for Pochettino’s side.

The Argentina international has only missed one top-flight match this season because of injury.

Fernandez and his teammates will have to be at their best if they are to get anything out of this game. City have looked really good in their last couple of fixtures, beating Young Boys 3-0 yesterday and Bournemouth 6-1 over the weekend.

The Blues would probably take a point, but securing a draw will not be easy.

Having beaten Tottenham and managed to put four past their London rivals, though, Chelsea should have some confidence going into the game and are at least at home. However, their form at the Bridge has not been too great lately.
