While the domestic season has taken a break for now, Mauricio Pochettino will already have an eye on Chelsea’s next Premier League fixture.

The Blues have won their last two games in the league, making it three in a row in all competitions.

However, they now face the much bigger test of welcoming Arsenal to Stamford Bridge in less than two weeks’ time.

Here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s predicted XI for the London derby when the Premier League returns.

One of the easiest positions to choose on the pitch right now, with Robert Sanchez obviously keeping his place between the sticks for now.

The game will come too soon for the returning Reece James, although Malo Gusto will be available again after suspension.

Assuming his injury is not serious, Axel Disasi will continue his run of starting every game so far this season.

He will be joined in the middle by Thiago Silva, with Pochettino clearly impressed with what he has seen from the duo this season.

Trying to do a job on Bukayo Saka is the enviable task left to Levi Colwill, who is looking more comfortable at left-back as time goes on.

Depending on his fitness returning from a gruelling international break, Moises Caicedo will start in the middle of the park.

Similarly, Chelsea supporters will be hoping that Enzo Fernandez is fit and firing in time for the London derby.

Just ahead of those two, Conor Gallagher will look to keep up his excellent form, with him again donning the captain’s armband.

Attack

Following three wins in his three starts for the club, Cole Palmer will continue his run in the team as a starting player.

Down the middle, Nicolas Jackson will be recalled ahead of Armando Broja to occupy Gabriel and William Saliba.

On the left, Raheem Sterling will start ahead of Mykhailo Mudryk, who will again be forced to fight for his place in attack.
