Chelsea star Noni Madueke needs to be unleashed this Sunday against Aston Villa.

It’s been a frustrating start to the 2023/24 campaign for Noni Madueke, missing a lot of action so far due to a combination of team selection and injury.

However, we feel this weekend would be the perfect time for the 21-year-old attacker to start his first Premier League game of the season.

Madueke, who earns £50,000-a-week (Spotrac), has the potential to bring the kind of directness Chelsea’s attack is crying out for.

The right-winger scored on his only start this season, the Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon.

Hopefully, Mauricio Pochettino is tempted to put the Englishman straight into the line-up to boost a toothless forward line.

He did miss last weekend’s 0-0 draw against Bournemouth after returning from international duty with a muscle problem. However, Chelsea confirmed via their official website earlier this week that Madueke is training with the squad.

Madueke, along with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson, do possess the pace to ask serious questions of a Villa defence that tend to have high starting positions.

Madueke is still someway off the finished article. One really impressive trait of his is that he’s not afraid to try things on the football pitch, though.

The English trickster is capable of bringing the kind of bravery and intent that will get the Blues fanbase off their seats at Stamford Bridge, which has been a dull home to attend recently due to the very poor string of results in 2023.

He looked threatening in spells last season after joining from PSV Eindhoven, so we want to see more this term.

Our guess is Villa’s left-back, probably Lucas Digne, would much rather face someone else than a raw talent like Madueke that loves to dribble at defender 1v1.
