On an individual level, Cole Palmer has achieved a lot at Chelsea this season.
While Chelsea as a whole have underperformed, with Mauricio Pochettino‘s men currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table, Cole Palmer has excelled.
In 26 top-flight appearances, the attacker has scored 16 goals and provided nine assists.
The above means that Palmer is the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard in 2019 to register 25 goal contributions.
He is now looking to break a record set by Blues legend Frank Lampard.

Cole Palmer could break Frank Lampard record
Out of the 16 goals that Palmer has scored in the Premier League this season, eight of them have been penalties.
The 21-year-old needs a few more spot kicks before the campaign ends, and there is a good reason why.
According to Chelsea’s official website, Lampard has scored the most penalties in a single Premier League season.
The England legend netted 10 in the 2009/10 campaign, helping the Blues to win the title.
Palmer has eight games left to match or surpass Lampard’s record.
Chelsea’s remaining fixtures
Chelsea’s next Premier League game is against Everton at home before they take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.
After that, Pochettino’s men have the following teams left to play: Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea may be in ninth place, but they are only five points behind Manchester United in sixth and have a game in hand over Erik ten Hag’s side.
If they can go on a good run, Europa League qualification is more than possible. The only thing is they have not been able to do that all season.
Chelsea have pinned everything on Palmer, who will be fit to play against his former club City next weekend, which they cannot keep doing going forward.
