Reports have claimed that Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was in attendance as Chelsea were defeated by Real Madrid last night.

According to the Mail Online, the Spaniard was seen just in front of the press box for the Champions League night at Stamford Bridge.

Sanchez has previously been linked with a transfer to West London, especially when his former coach Graham Potter was in charge of the club.

The goalkeeper situation has attracted more attention than ever before this season.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has somehow reclaimed his place as the number one after seemingly being out of the picture under Thomas Tuchel during the successful time he was at the club.

This has seen Edouard Mendy remain on the bench for the majority of the campaign, despite only being named the UEFA goalkeeper of the year less than two years ago.

However, the Spain international has recently come under fire for some of his performances for the Blues, especially in big moments of games.

Links to goalkeepers have not disappeared in recent months, with them almost certain to be addressing the position in the summer transfer window.

One of the names who has been previously linked to the club is Sanchez, who was spotted at Stamford Bridge last night.

If he was supporting the English side in Europe, he will have been disappointed with the result as Chelsea crashed out of Europe following their 4-0 aggregate defeat to Madrid.

The 25-year-old has recently been replaced as the number one at Brighton, and therefore could be available far easier than some other potential targets.

He already has a seal of approval from former manager Potter, who has previously described him as ‘amazing’.

With the contract scenario of both goalkeepers currently at the club in the air, the addition of Sanchez looks like it would be a great signing for the Blues.
